19th September 2012
The Combined Cadet Force travelled to RAF Brize Norton for the Michaelmas field day. During the day, groups took part in a variety of activities including high ropes, meeting the RAF Parachute Display Team (The RAF Falcons), going on the laser DCCT (dismounted close combat training) range and using the VC-10 flight simulator. After these activities, we had lunch in the junior ranks mess, followed by a tour of a C-17 aircraft. To finish off the day, we had a tour of the new voyager hangar, accompanied by a video explaining the air to air refueling process. It was a great day; all the boys enjoyed it and learnt a lot.
