37 boys went to London to enjoy the Classical galleries of the British Museum. The upper sixth ancient historians focused on the Parthenon (or 'Elgin') marbles, studying the frieze, metopes and pediments of Athene's temple in real detail. The GCSE students concentrated on the ancient life galleries, looking at the pots, statues and other archaeological objects for evidence of Greek religion, drinking parties, theatre, athletics and much, much more. They were particularly impressed by the multi-talented Satyrs, followers of Dionysos, god of wine!
