36 students accompanied by Mr McGill, Mr Hallinan and Mr Hofton travelled to the Ypres Salient and the Somme Battlefields to see key sites associated with the British Expeditionary Force in World War 1. Places visited included the Thiepval Memorial and the Serre Battlefields at the Somme, and the Menin Gate and Tyne Cot cemetery at Passchendaele. The trip was a great success and hopefully the students learnt a lot both about the war and its effects.
