The Abingdon Dance Project is a new venture that provides opportunities for pupils to work with professional choreographers and dance teachers. Last year, senior pupils from Abingdon and St Helen’s came together to work with choreographer and OA Matthew Hawksworth in the splendid new dance studio in the Sports Centre. The classes combine learning a variety of dance skills and styles (contemporary, street, disco, lindy hop etc) with devising choreography to accompany all kinds of music, which can ultimately lead to a public performance later in the year. The Abingdon Dance Project is a fantastic way to develop new skills, boost fitness, flexibility and creativity, all in one!
