On the 3rd June 45 4th year students accompanied by Mr Hallinan, Mr Loughe, Mr McGill and Mr Hofton left Luton airport for a three day trip to Berlin. The students visited various sites associated with Berlin both under Nazi control and also during the Cold War. Conditions in East Germany under Communist control were bought vividly to life with visits to the DDR museum and the Stasi prison at Hohenschönhausen whilst crimes committed by the Nazi regime were illustrated by visits to Sachsenhausen concentration camp and the Holocaust memorial in the city centre. A delayed flight meant a late return on Monday morning but hopefully the students felt the trip was worth it. Thanks must go to Mr Hallinan for organising it.
