ASMS is the parent body established to support the musical life of the School. Our income comes from subscriptions and fundraising events; expenditure is then carefully targeted in consultation with the School’s Music department.

ASMS funds regular master classes for the pupils, such as those given recently by the pianist Ben Schoeman and opera singer Richard Burkhard. The Music Society supports international orchestral tours and recently gave a generous grant towards the orchestra being able to fulfil an invitation to perform at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of our exchange programme with the Ratsgymansium in Bielefeld.

ASMS can also offer bursary support for musical tours, workshops and courses; for example the summer Eton Choral Course. ASMS has helped the school purchase specialised instruments for the Music Department to allow a broader repertoire to be performed.

The School’s Music Department provides students with a fantastic range of musical opportunities and ASMS is proud to support these.

At the end of each academic year committee members retire as their sons leave the school, so we are looking for new committee members to take their place. Being on the committee is not onerous; we hold one meeting early each term and members help, where they can, on the rota by serving drinks at concerts.

If you could spare the time to join ASMS and help support the wonderful work that the Music Department does, please contact the Music Secretary via email who will provide you with further details.
